Soccer Party!

A good time was definitely kicked up at Carson's 10th birthday party! Soccer balls and lots of purple made for a fabulous party design for this birthday gal.   With a scoreboard font, foam soccer balls and soccer ribbon, the welcome sign set the mood for guests that "Carson's Soccer Fields" were open and ready to party.
The main table scape set the focus on Carson with her name nestled in grass mats.  The star candy dishes were one of my favorite features.  I took a simple Dollar Tree star candy dish and hot glued it to a plastic wine cup filled with purple shred.  I then added some soccer ribbon around the edge of the star dish.  Voila! An otherwise ordinary dish is now customized to fit the party design.  I also loved the garland around the counter edge...a roll of ribbon and some foam soccer balls.  Simple. Beauty.
Donuts were served as cake. Thanks again to the fine folks at Daylight Donuts for making my donuts to spec.  They were beautiful and perfect.
The favor stand backdrop was some super fun soccer ball fabric and a sign stating the score "Carson 10, Guest 0" Get it? I'm amused easily:)  The "time" remaining was Carson's actual birthdate.  Her party was delayed, you guessed it, because of too many soccer tournaments.
Carson and her mom picked up some awesome soccer charm necklaces for her guests to take home.  I packaged them for the party complete with each girl's name and a tag stating "Thanks for kickin' up a good time.  Love, Carson".
In the end, a plain black and white ball definitely inspired a beautiful party design.

Orange and Pink Baby Shower

Third time's a charm, isn't that what they say?  Well, it's true for Betzy since she is expecting soon and it's finally a girl.  And that can only mean one thing....pink.  Bright pink, pale pink, magenta pink. And to make it a little more personal I threw in Betzy's favorite color, orange.
For this event, my clients requested a focal tablescape and some simple decor.  I made custom flowers from crepe paper streamers and cupcake liners.  A floral sticker in the middle and dowels wrapped in yarn made the stem.  I "potted" them in simple Mason jars wrapped in yarn.  Wrapping paper served to spruce up the tabletop, while coasters in shades of pink served to dress up the tablefront.  These same elements were placed around the dining area and at the beverage stand and cake table to complete the design.
I loved this design as it tied together my favorite looks of whimsy and sophisticated.  Take a look....
