Escort Card Display Board

One of my good girlfriends from high school got married earlier this month.  She asked me if I could help her come up with a good way to display her place cards.  I came up with some inspiration from  here and adjusted it to the style of  her wedding. A preppy destination wedding in Kiawah Island, NC  with poppy orange and magenta colors.

I started with a crisp white frame with clean lines to complement the preppy style.  I then took the same paper that lined her invitations and mounted it with the cork board into the frame.  Paper from here. The end result was beautiful backdrop for the place cards.

Next, the place cards.  I went with crisp white with them as well.  Using the same font color and style as the invitations (it's the little details, people!!!) I printed the outside with the guest(s) name and the inside with the table assignment.  I was quite proud of doing this without catapulting the printer across the room.  No paper jams.  No printing on the wrong side. No running to the paper store because I was short one sheet.  Some things just make you feel really smart.  This was one of them.

Finally, I used some simple orange ribbon from which I hung the place cards and then mounted to the cork board.   I had a hard time finding some "fun" thumb tacks so I opted to use a basic gold thumb tack. When I ran it by the bride she thought it was great since the ladies of the bridal party were wearing gold jewelry and shoes.  I love it when luck is in my corner:)

I loved the end result and can't wait to see my creation in the "limelight"!  Stay tuned for more pics!

Have you missed me?

I know I've been MIA from posts lately...I've been busy working on quite a few projects.  I designed a placecard display for a very good friend's wedding (whose wedding is today, in fact...thinking of you both J/J!) and styled/setup a 66th birthday party.  Pics from both coming soon!  In between both of those projects, I have been working on designing a November wedding with a super fun client (I always said I would never do a wedding - lesson learned, never say never:) and not to be forgotten my recently added baby showers, one for twins, and another for a mama of two boys who is now being blessed with a girl.  Can anyone say PINK?  Stay tuned for all the fun pics and sneak peeks of future events. Oh yeah, I got bored with my site and gave it a "spring cleaning"?  What do you think? Best Blogger Tips
