Club Owen

Club Owen was rocking this weekend!  Younger brother Owen loves to dance and jam so this party was all for him.  I went with the bright rocker colors since it was 5 year old boys...bright orange, blue, and electric green paired  with classic rocker silver and black. Some glitter stars and lots of rocking instruments completed the look of the party and made this club open for partying!!

The second half to the back to back birthday weekend was welcomed by this custom sign made by yours truly. Again, my favorite detail came on the welcome sign, the "partying like rock stars for 5 years" just made me chuckle.  I know, another geeky detail.

This huge banner hung behind the table where the boys ate.  I felt it fit the the feel of the party much better than my usual bunting banner.

A close look at the paper detail

Each place setting had glow bracelets and glitter star stickers for the boys to put on for dance time, while the centerpiece was an foam electric guitar set on rock star paper and banner coordinating guitar paper.

The food table served up this fabulous guitar cake made by Owen's mom!  Didn't she do a great job?  I was definitely impressed.   The boys were also treated to Hip Hop Hawaiian Punch and "Rock" Candy:)

A few more details....

Favors included an echo microphone (the parents love me!), rockstar notepad, and Pop "Rocks":)

And on that note, it's time to....

Happy Birthday Owen!  Hope you had a rockin' time!!!!

Parker's Legoland

This weekend I designed back to back parties for two brothers whose birthdays are two days apart!  Talk about lots of energy in your house:)  First up on Saturday was super cool Parker...this little guy made my weekend...he shared so many kind words and had such gratitude towards me for his party design, which means MORE to me than any feedback anyone else could give.  To have captured the look on his face as he zipped through the house looking at what I created...absolutely precious.  Thanks Parker, and thanks for sharing your love for Legos with me!

My party design was totally inspired by these awesome invites designed by Kelly at Perilight Graphics.  She was amazingly easy to work with and so quick!  Thanks Kelly!

Guests were welcomed with this custom sign I made.  I think the "8"'s out of Legos that I put around the frame were my favorite detail of the whole party.

For the focal table, I made a custom garland with all sorts of images of  Lego City and Lego Star Wars mini figs. It turned out so cute!  The cupcake fondant details were  made for us by the lovely ladies at A Taste of Paradise. Parker's mom made the cupcakes...isn't she good? She will never admit it though..wait until you see what she created the next day! Dishes filled with Lego brick candies sat on Lego base boards.  A special thanks to my niece and nephew for loaning me their mega stash of Legos that filled the jars and vases throughout the party!

Parker likes Legos, but LOVES the Star Wars series.  I found this great poster of some of the Star Wars mini figs to add some decor to the room.  The Star Wars battleship (totally not the right term, I'm sure...where's Parker when I need him? :) cutout made a nice custom detail in a bud vase filled with Legos.  Because I loved the invite so much, I set it out on a green Lego baseboard.  A nice touch of whimsy!

The kids table...the center was adorned with a couple of Parker's favorite Lego battleships he made skirted by party color shred and a custom centerpiece I created.  Each place setting had a water bottle and napkin wrapped with my custom made wraps.  Parker's favorite Lego character is Boba Fett, so I put the mini fig at his seat and all the other seats had various other mini figs!  Another detail that I just loved.

I didn't want to go overboard on the Lego images so I made the bunting with party scheme colors and just a touch of Lego via the pennant accents around Parker.

A custom garland and a creative use of Legos to create Parker's name carried the decor into the bathroom.  Told ya, total sucker for details!

I made an extra large Lego for "Pin the Circle on the Lego Brick". Guests also played Lego Spoon Relay, Lego Tower, and Lego Balloon Pop.

And that my friends, is Parker's Legoland!  I enjoyed creating every part of it! Happy Birthday Parker!

Sweet Kate!

Sweet little Kate has a love for ladybugs so Mom was sure she would love a Ladybug 3rd Birthday! My inspiration for this party was the cute, cute fabric I found for the tablescape backdrop.  From there it was ladybugs and all the whimsical patterns that go with them.  There is one thing about this party that amazed me, looking back, I loved how Kate and her big brother ran around the house and were never once distracted by all the party prep going on around them!  They were so stinkin' cute just running around chasing each other and playing with their toys like everyday life.  I might borrow them to teach my kids a thing or two...it would have 22 million questions at my house:)
Anyhow, here are pics!  Special shout out to my dear friend kieraphoto for her beautiful pics of the event.

I custom made all the party decor for this event.  The beautiful ladybug cake was made by Jennifer Lagore.  Lady bug and "3" cookies were created by the skillful ladies at A Taste of Paradise.

Back to the 50's....6yr old style!

This had to be the cutest party....ever.  I am definitely jealous of it.  I can't even describe how my heart melted to see 12 beautiful girls  dressed in their pink poodle skirts  And then I thought I was gonna cry when I saw them all dancing and singing to Wii DanceIt....absolutely precious!  Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about Lou's Diner!  This was an awesome collaboration. Mom had some brilliant ideas, I sprinkled in some more, a cup of crafting, a dash of design,  and voila! I bring you...

Lou's Diner - Lauren's 6th Birthday!!!

Table scatters

The girls took the Coke glasses home as favors, along with their poodle skirts!

Mom created these great coloring books for the girls to
work on when they first got to the party

Burger trays and fry holders pre-food; I created the tray liners by using the
party colors and a 50s font and repeated "Happy Birthday" on the tissue.  I printed this same pattern
and created my own paper for the birthday bunting hung from the fireplace and for the table scatters.

Awesome poodle-work by mom, skirts sewn by yours truly!

This sign and the one below were both on these massive sheets of decor that birthday girl's mom bought, I gave them a little TLC and mounted them on posterboard and hung them from the chandelier above the lunch table. There is also a menu and Fountain Shoppe sign I gave the same TLC too and used as part of the decor.

Lauren is not a fan of cake, so we got donuts as a fun variation!

Anyone catch the "Since 2005"?  Get it? I'm easily entertained:)

This meant nothing to the kids, but it made the adults get a good giggle:)

I owe credits to bakerella for the burger trays, inserts and french fry holders inspiration, to talented Simply Captivating Events for the advice on my bunting even though mine is not near as cool as hers, and of course, the lovely Purple Pug for inspiring my "cake" topper and Lou's Diner centerpiece!
